I do not necessarily support any viewpoints quoted here!

Ever since the economic meltdown began last year we have heard lots of voices on the left gleefully predicting the end of “laissez-faire capitalism” (when did we ever have it?) and the dawning of a new New Deal.  I’ll get to the US eventually, but first let’s take a quick look around the world: 1.  In the most important election since the crisis hit, Indian voters decisively ousted the communist party from the coalition government, opening the door to further economic reforms by the Singh government. 2.  In EU elections voters swung to the right in all 5 of the biggest countries. 3.  And now for the election in Argentina.
